Bill Ray Winchester

Bill Ray Winchester, 90, of Boynton Beach, Florida died peacefully at home on April 11, 2023.
Born March 30, 1933 in Deerfield Beach, Bill moved to Boynton Beach in 1946. He later married Elsie Ann Klatt, both are native Floridians. Bill graduated from The University of Florida and was educated in animal husbandry. He was a lieutenant in the Army Reserves from 1955-1957.
He worked on his father's pineapple farm known as Flatwoods Plantation. He bailed hay for 13 area dairies in the 60's and 70's and continued to raise cattle until recently. He was a farmer who was very professional and made many contributions to the Boynton Beach community. He was President of the Delray Beach Florida Farm Bureau, a member of the Rotary Club, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a lifetime member of the Boynton Beach Historical Society.
He was a humble and optimistic man who was kind to everyone. He loved his family, his dogs, taking family trips in their motor home, his cookies and pastries and was a voracious Gator fan. Go Gators!
Bill will be lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Elsie of 61 years, his children; Sheri (John) Lucas; Suzy Winchester; Joy (Dirk) Anderson; Bill II (Greta) Winchester. His grandchildren- Julie Lucas (Ethan); Jonathan Lucas (Ashley); Ruby Lucas; Kelvyn Anderson; Kyra Anderson; Kaden Anderson; Emily Winchester; Bill Winchester III. His great-grandchildren- Zoey Ledford and Isabella Lucas. He was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Ruby Winchester, his brother James Winchester and his sisters Mary Alice Finfrock and Marion Winchester.
Our family will be forever grateful for the care provided by his many caregivers: Alicia, Ophelia, Laura, Lauren of Hired Hearts, Fabiola, Shawn and Marie of Absolutely Haven.
Family and Friends will be received at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, 599 N.E. 15th Ave., Boynton Beach on April 21, 2023. Viewing from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM.
