BEVERLY FAY VOSS
Beverly Fay Voss (nee Kantrowitz) 90 of Boynton Beach, Florida passed gently into that good night on October 11, 2019 after complications from a stroke. Beverly was born on June 26, 1929 to Joseph and Ethel Kantrowitz in Elizabeth, NJ. Bev was raised in Roselle Park, NJ where she met the love of her life, Larry (Clarence) Voss. After graduating from Roselle Park High School, Bev and Larry married on December 18, 1948. She paved the way as a working mom by joining the Roselle Park School District in 1961 and then working in as secretary in the guidance department of Roselle Park High School for 25 years.
Bev and Larry celebrated 50 years of marriage with their children, Sandra Lee and Kenneth LeRoy, also graduates of Roselle Park High School. After raising their family, Bev and Larry moved from Roselle Park in 1973 to Ocean Beach, NJ and then in 1987 to Rodgers, Arkansas before retiring to Boynton Beach in 1991. Always an avid reader, Bev started each morning with her newspaper and a cup of coffee. She never missed an episode of Judge Judy, Family Feud or Jeopardy. Independent to the end, even at 90, she spent many hours on the computer, keeping up with current events and playing solitaire.
Bev is survived by her children, grandchildren Benjamin Casey and Shannon Lee, daughter-in-law Lisa DeMatteo, Casey’s wife Laurie, great granddaughter Reagan, and nieces Patricia Cornwell and Barbara Bonaventure.
Her family and friends will always be blessed with years of happy memories of time together in Ocean Beach, NJ and Boynton Beach, FL, including a recent joyous 90th birthday celebration.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach, Florida.
