Age 92 of Boynton Beach passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023.
Bernie was born in Kansas City Missouri to the late Evert & Marie Louise Brown. Bernice and her late husband moved to Miami in 1957 and shortly thereafter to Boynton Beach. She and Bill founded Hayes and Associates Insurance Agency in Boynton Beach in the early 1970’s.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bill Hayes, son, William Hayes and granddaughter, Jennifer Slattery, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
She is survived by her son, Robert Hayes and her daughter, Loretta Hayes; 3 grandchildren, Erica Hayes, Jackie Slattery and James Slattery; great grandchildren, Orion Hayes, Selena Slattery, Angelina Slattery, Jackson Slattery Thomas, and Jasmine Slattery.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, August 11, 2023 at 10 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach. Bernice will be laid to rest with her late husband, Bill on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 10:30 AM (Lane 1) at the South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida.
