Benjamin (Ben) Plaza age 29 of Delray Beach and Lake Worth, Florida passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2023.
Ben was born in Elyria, Ohio on September 18, 1993. Ben was raised in Vermilion and Bay Village, Ohio and in Warren and St. Clair, Michigan. He grew up surrounded by the great lakes and spent vacations growing up with his paternal grandparents at their cottage on Lake Huron and with his maternal grandfather fishing on his boat in the Gulf of Mexico near Tampa, Florida. Being on or near the water was where Ben found peace and happiness. He loved boating and fishing but his greatest joy in the last few years was diving and spear fishing. Many of Ben’s fondest memories involved rivers, lakes, beaches, and oceans. Ben found his peace and happiness on the water, but his greatest priorities were his family and friends. He was fiercely loyal to and protective of those he loved. Those who knew and loved Ben loved him for his incredible mind, his quick wit, and his loving heart, and marveled at his ability to function in the chaos he created around himself daily.
Ben his survived by his wife Amy (Vosgerichian) of Lake Worth, FL, his parents John (Elena) Plaza of Merritt Island, FL and Kris (Jim) Gilland of Bay Village, OH, his siblings Paulina (15), Cassidy (12) and Lorelei (10), his grandparents Edward and Martha Plaza of Warren, MI, and his step-grandparents George (Lynda Ulrich) Carlson and Cindy (Dave) Ulrich. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles Mary Ann (Scott) Mac-Namee, Edward Plaza, Jr., Scott (Monique) Ulrich, and Karen Ulrich, cherished cousins CJ, Jarrod, Tressa, Matthew, Eddie, Randi and Amanda, and many other cousins, aunts, and uncles that loved him throughout his life. Ben was predeceased by his beloved maternal grandparents Lynda Ulrich of Vermilion, Ohio and Dave Ulrich of Sun City Center, FL.
