Barbara Lynn O'Neil 54, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away, on Wednesday Sept 6, 2023 at Boca Raton Regional Hospital of a Hemorrhagic Stroke. She was born on August 27, 1969 in Rahway, New Jersey.
Barbara attended Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale and graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1988. She attended college at Tallahassee Community College and in 1991 relocated to Boca Raton to begin her career in management for medical practices, specifically Obstetrics and Gynecology. She first worked for Doctors John Briggs, Harvey Roth and Frederick Silfen. She joined the practice of Dr. David Lubetkin and Dr. Steven Birnbach in 1999, continuing to work exclusively with Dr. Lubetkin until now. She loved this field of medicine since it brought happy news to patients. In the last 25 years, Dr. Lubetkin's practice has flourished and she was proud to be a part of its success along with all of the midwives and staff members.
She was loved by all who knew her and was always willing to listen to anyone and gave great advice; especially issues regarding finances, cars, and business.
Barbara was kind, sweet, gracious and forgiving and especially loved being Aunt Barbara to her niece and nephew.
Barbara's final act was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation through Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency (LAORA) at the University of Miami. This gesture gives her family great comfort.
Barbara is preceded in death by her Father, Daniel O'Neil and Uncle, The Honorable Thomas Rumana. She is survived by her mother, Jacqueline O'Neil of Fort Lauderdale, sister Susan of Boca Raton, brother, James (Ashlea) O'Neil of Cumming GA, niece Kellen O'Neil and nephew Conor O'Neil of Cumming, GA, Aunt Marilyn Rumana of Wayne, NJ, Uncle Larry (Angela) O'Neil of Sparta, NJ and cousins, The Honorable Scott (Laura) Rumana and their son Tommy of Wayne, NJ and Christopher O'Neil of Sparta, NJ.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 23 at 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home. The graveside service will begin at 2:00 pm at Boca Raton Cemetery and Mausoleum at 451 SW 4th Avenue in Boca Raton.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital in Barbara's memory or a special charity of your choice.
