Armando was born on October 15, 1921 in Brooklyn, New York and passed away on September 13, 2020 in Boynton Beach, Florida at the age of 98.
Armando is survived by his daughter, Marie; 2 sons, Angelo & his wife, Joan and Peter & his late wife, Linda (nee Favorito). Also surviving are his grandchildren, Jillian & her fiancé, Nick, Peter, Jr. & his wife, Lisa, Ryan & his wife, Dina, Christopher & his wife, Michele, Matthew & his wife, Jamie and great grandchildren, Carmela, Lorraine and Peter, III, Mia, Grace and Ryan, Brianna, Victoria and Christopher and Charlotte and Olivia.
Armando grew up in Canarsie Brooklyn. He had about 50 best friends and they started a club named Club Ivy. They all stayed in touch even as the years passed.
Armando was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He was a gunner on a B25 plane and flew about 10 missions in Europe. He never spoke of the war until recently. Just recently France honored him with their Freedom Medal for keeping France safe.
He was a great husband and father and to all grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him back. He will be truly missed. He made so many friends here in Boynton who loved him and will miss him.
Friends will be received at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, 599 N.E. 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach from 2 PM to 5 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 643 St. Mark Place, Boynton Beach, Florida at 11:00 AM on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020. A Private Committal Service will be held at the South Florida National Cemetery.
