Angelo Anthony Porcaro-Passed away on July 19, 2020 after a short illness. Angelo was born in 1925 to Alberto and Angelina Porcaro. He grew up in Somerville, MA and attended Somerville High School. Angelo served in the Navy during WWII and became Chief Petty Officer in Okinawa Japan. He was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal after service to his country. The owner of Prospect Stove in Cambridge, MA until the mid-1960’s he then joined Local 17 Sheet Metal Workers Union where he quickly elevated to main Supervisor. He also owned and worked at various businesses. In his later years he moved to Florida and became an avid golfer, pool player, winning the Senior Billiards Championship at 93, poet, and all-around good friend to those around him. He leaves behind his beloved children, Steven A. Porcaro of Grantham, NH and Tampa, FL and Nancy E. Porcaro of Arlington, MA. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Cameron, Brittany, Haley and Katie Porcaro. Due to COVID-19, services will be postponed until 2021 in which time he will receive a military memorial service.
