Angelina, “Angie” Botta (Alagna) was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Angie passed away at home on December 16, 2022 in Boynton Beach, FL, with her family by her side.
Angelina was born on March 1, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY to immigrant parents from Sicily. She is predeceased by her Papa and Mama, Pietro and Jennie Alagna, and her sister, Jean Carotenuto. Angelina lived in New York until 1984 when she moved to South Florida for more sunshine and to be closer to her youngest daughter, Gina.
Angelina had a zest for life and did everything with love. She made lifelong friends throughout every facet of her life. Whether it was through her days working in retail, attending church, or her Saturday afternoon card games, Angelina made all feel loved through her great sense of humor and thoughtfulness. She enjoyed entertaining others and loved listening to music by Frank Sinatra.
Her biggest passion was for her family. Angelina is survived by her children, Gina Mattila, Michael and Nicholas Botta, grandchildren, Nicole Leone, Megan and Jake Mattila, Courtney, Zachary and Taylor Botta, and great grandchildren, Sydney Rose, Antonio, Sofia and Lola Leone.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11am Thursday, December 22 at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Boynton Beach, FL.
