Allen Milton Potter
August 11, 1928 — July 29, 2017
Allen Milton Potter passed away on July 29, 2017 and is survived by his son Warren V. Potter and his sister, Elizabeth Potter Haswell as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the son of Allen David Potter and Helen Santee Potter and was born in Ellenville, NY on August 8, 1928. He went to Ellenville Central Schools up until 8th grade and then attended and graduated Loomis School in Connecticut. While at Yale he traveled to Europe with the Yale Glee Club and following that went to work as a partner with his father at the Potter Insurance Agency in Ellenville.
After marring Marjorie Van Kleek, they moved to Deerfield Beach, where he and his dad opened the Southland Insurance Company.
His wife, Marjorie predeceased him on April 15, 2012 as did a daughter, Marla E. Potter, in 1992.
He loved singing and sang with many choirs and on many numerous occasions. He will be missed.
The Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Tropical Sands Christian Church, 2726 Burns Road, Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
