ALICE MARIE VADALA

Age 78, a resident of Boynton Beach, FL, passed away at her home on January 16, 2019 in the presence of her loving family.

Alice was born on August 2, 1940 in Norwalk, Connecticut, to James and Constance Rossetti. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony Frank Vadala, Jr. (“Nino”) and their young son, Anthony Frank Vadala, III (“Little Nino”), who died of leukemia in early childhood. She waited 49 years to hold him again and we are comforted knowing he was her first hug in heaven, running and jumping into her loving arms. She was also preceded in death by both of her parents, James and Connie Rossetti, her younger sister, Cathy Berger and her brother-in-law Ronald Vadala.

Alice spent most of her life in Cos Cob, Connecticut married to Nino, the absolute love of her life. During their 50 years of marriage, they shared many interests including traveling, snowmobiling, going to dances, going to casinos and entertaining friends and family. Together they showed the world what a marriage should be. He was her king and she was his queen. Now, in heaven, they can dance once again.

Beautiful Alice...

The Matriarch of the family, called Mimi by many, was a friend, sister and mother to all; known as the keeper of secrets and the giver of strength. After the passing of her husband, Nino, in 2011, she bravely moved permanently to their winter-home in Boynton Beach, FL where she embarked on a new journey of friendship and involvement in her community. She enjoyed getting together with her many close friends, volunteering at the clubhouse, going to her favorite arcade, visits with family and making the most of every day God gave her. She was an angel while on Earth and touched every single person she met. She will be dearly missed by all.

She is survived by her three loving daughters, Marie Rousseau and her wife Mary Garren, of Stoughton, Massachusetts; Dawn and Luciano Aquino of Cos Cob, Connecticut and their children, Christi and Michael Elam, Jodi Aquino and Luke Aquino; Marcie Vadala Ostensen of Bridgeport, Connecticut and her daughters Kari Ostensen and Berit Ostensen; her brother, James Rossetti, Jr. and his wife Cindy of Newtown, Connecticut; and her youngest brother John Rossetti of Norwalk, Connecticut as well as her sister-in-law, Patricia Pugliese and brother-in-laws Albert Vadala and his wife, Rose, and Kenneth Vadala and his husband, Doug. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of her life in the spring, her favorite time of the year, to be planned and announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her memory to the Leukemia Foundation.
