Adela E. Ornelas, 94, of Delray Beach, Florida, a beloved mother, known to many as Momma Della, was born on March 11, 1931, in Texas and passed away peacefully on October 23, 2025, in Boynton Beach. Her vibrant personality shone throughout her life, characterized by her outgoing nature, love for dancing, gardening, and sharing laughter with those around her. Adela’s ability to find joy in the small things - from listening to music to savoring delightful meals - made her a cherished friend and an irreplaceable matriarch.
Adela is survived by her loving family, who will forever remember her warmth and kindness. She is the devoted mother of Dora (Roberto) Rodriguez, Ernie (Vera) Ornelas, Dina Johnson, and Velma (Jose Delgado) Ornelas. Adela was a wonderful mother-in-law to Odie, wife of the late Jimmy Ornelas. Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored and took immense pride in.
Though she faced the loss of her son, Jimmy Ornelas, she remained a symbol of love and resilience for her family. Adela's greatest accomplishment was her dedication to her family, nurturing and supporting them unconditionally throughout her life.
The funeral services will be held on November 8, 2025, at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 599 NE 15th Ave, Boynton Beach, FL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Adela will be laid to rest at Delray Beach Memorial Gardens later that day at 12:30 PM. Following the service, there will be a celebration of life gathering at 1207 Milfred Street, Delray Beach, FL 33444.
Adela E. Ornelas leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her joyous spirit and the love she shared so generously.
"A mother in Heaven is a guardian angel on earth watching over her loved ones with love and grace."
