Adam Lawrence Young, age 46, passed away of a heart attack on April 22, 2021.

Despite his too-short time here on earth, Adam lived life to the fullest! He was born in Washington DC on Friday, September 13, 1974. He often joked that being born on Friday the 13th was bad luck.

He grew up to be what his mother, Jinx Liggett, laughingly referred to as “challenging” in high school – with his black leather jacket and his infamous blue and white Ford Ranger that he modified with a 5.0 engine that roared loud enough for anyone within a 1-mile radius to announce his arrival. He was fearless and loved to ride and race dirt bikes and get himself into trouble but he had a great sense of humor and an ability to make friends with just about anyone which was often his saving grace.

It was in high school that Adam met his future wife, Elizabeth Young. He went to her house one day and asked to borrow her vocabulary book (even though they weren’t in the same class and didn’t even use the same book!) and the rest was history.

Adam graduated from Quince Orchard High School and went to college in Maryland for drafting and architecture. He then moved to Florida and worked as an architect / draftsman. He married Elizabeth on May 17, 2003.

A few years later he was in a go-cart accident with injuries that led him down the path of addiction. Though this was a dark time for him and his family, he white-knuckled his way to sobriety through the help of the Fern House in West Palm Beach and turned his entire life around. For the past 12 years he has worked in the field of recovery and made it his life mission to help other addicts get clean and sober.

Adam considered being a Dad his most important job and loved his two children, Skyler Young – age 14 and Riley Young – age 6, more than anything. He loved spending time with them on his 4-wheeler, going fishing on his Jon boat, taking them camping, encouraging them in all their sporting events and watching movies and football together.

Adam has joined his dear father, Alan Young, and his beloved grandparents, Nannie, PapPap and Bubby in heaven. He was a one of a kind that cannot be replaced. Goodbye came too fast....

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Young and his two children, Skyler Young and Riley Young along with a large, loving family and hundreds of friends.

Family & friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Memorial for Adam Young on May, 14th at Noon at Journey Church, 715 S. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach, FL. Light reception to follow. Dressy Casual (Florida style – jackets/ties not required). Must wear mask.
