GEORGE J. JEZIERNY, JR.
Age 92 of Delray Beach passed away Dec. 10, 2018. He was born November 1, 1926 in Bridgeport, CT son of the late George J. Jezierny and Helen Novak Jezierny. George served in the Army Air Corps during World War II stationed in Palawan, PI with the 12th Airdrome Squadron. After his discharge he attended the Rhode Island School of Design, graduating in 1952. George was an architect in Providence, Rhode Island and retired from the RGB CORP as a Senior Vice President in 1997. He served in the RI Chapter of American Institute of Architects as Treasurer, Vice President and President and was awarded the Morse Stone Fellowship from the RI Chapter AIA in 2017. George was a former member of the Wannamoisett CC and the Delray Beach Golf Club, having had 4 holes in one. He loved the game of golf. George resided in Rhode Island for more than 50 years mostly in Rumford.
George is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Hazen S. Jezierny; daughter, Susan C. Jezierny of Brockton, MA; 2 sons, Steven T. (Connie) Jezierny of Rumford, RI and Richard D. (Lesley) Jezierny of Boca Raton, FL; grandchildren, Michael T. Jezierny of San Francisco, CA, Sarah J. (Matthew) Harmon of Tallahassee, FL, James A. Jezierny of Boca Raton, FL; brothers, Peter J. (Mary) Jezierny of Clayton, NC and John M. (Carol) Jezierny of Boca Raton, FL and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Friends may call from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, December 14, 2018 at Scobee-Combs-Bowden Funeral Home, corner of US Hwy. #1 & NE 15th Avenue, Boynton Beach. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 AM at Emmanuel Catholic Church, 15700 S. Military Trail, Delray Beach, Florida 33484. Further services and burial will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
