MARLENE TRAVIS There will be a Funeral Service on Monday, June 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the West Pines Baptist Church, 4906 Melaleuca Lane, Greenacres, FL, followed by burial at South Florida National Cemetery for Marlene Travis, 62, who passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon at Bethesda Hospital, with her family by her side. Marlene was born Sept. 27, 1950, in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of Eugene and Alberta Spagnola Gallo, who both preceded her in death. She was a 1968 graduate of Chaney High School, and attended Central Bible College in Springfield MO. She was a legal secretary for nearly 20 years, but her real passion was in singing and writing songs for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, having recorded several contemporary Christian albums. She was an avid fan of NASCAR, and the Cleveland Indians, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She will be missed by her husband, William I. Travis, whom she married Sept. 2, 1978; a son, James Travis; and a sister, Renee Gallo, both of Boynton Beach.
